Gillian's official stats

So we took Gillian to the doctor today for her 6 month check up and everything is great. She was
20lbs 7oz - 98%
27 inches - 82%
Still growing big and strong, the doctor was happy to see that she was sitting up so well and reaching and grabbing for things. No need to go back until her 9 month check up in November!

To compare the girls...Sydney at 6 months was 19lbs 1oz and 28 1/4 inches long. So it looks like Gilly is going to out weigh her sister, but Syd will have the height, as of right now anyway:)

Gillian is 6 Months Old - August 19th, 2011

Our little girl is 6 months old, crazy! She has two teeth and she is a happy baby! She loves food, if we are eating we have to give her something too, it is pretty cute. She is rolling over, almost sitting up on her own, and she loves to watch her big sister play!! We take her to the doctor on Monday for her check up so I will update with the official weight and height after that. Here are a few pictures that I took at home, she did pretty good. I also tried to get one of the girls together and well when one cooperates the other doesn't, but there are a few good ones.

Hot Summer Days

Well we have had some hot days again, when will this end?? We have been making the most of it! Here are a few pics of the girls. Syd is really enjoying riding her bike, she likes to go anytime we can:) Gilly is getting so big, so crazy how fast time has gone!

No Power for 50 hours.....

Well we have had an interesting week, on Monday afternoon a storm came through. It was super windy and some rain but it was a fast storm and we lost power. We have lost power here a lot but it usually comes back within a couple hours so we didn't think much of it. There were no down trees, or fences or anything in our area so it couldn't have been that bad!!! So we go to bed and of course the power doesn't come back on even by the time we get up, so we go and buy a generator to plug the fridge in. Then the girls and I found things to do to try to stay cool for the next couple of days. Finally Wednesday night at 8 the power came back on, that is after 50 hours without it, wow would would have thought! The most annoying part was that when I called to find out how long it was going to be, they wouldn't even tell me, don't worry I plan to call and give them a piece of my mind. Every other state I have lived in the electric companies there have always given you a time frame!!! Anyway it was an adventure for sure and we know we need a bigger generator to run our well so we plan to get one so when this happens again, it is OK and we have a lot of wind and ice storms in the winter, we will be prepared! Once the power came on last night I was excited to do the dishes and today I was so excited to do laundry, who says that?!?!?!?!?! The little things we get so used to having around!! We are enjoying a bit of a cool down, only in the 90's for the next few days, we will take it!

Summer Fun

Well it has been a HOT summer here in OK, wow! I knew it would be warm, but 100 almost everyday, crazy! Needless to say, we are ready for Fall! Here are some pictures from July and the first few days of Aug.
After a storm we had a beautiful rainbow, Syd really enjoyed it.
Cousin Sam came to visit and Syd showed him the sandbox and he enjoyed it:)
Syd and Gilly
Syd helped me make applesauce for Gilly, she was a great help!
The girls with their daddy!
In July Gilly turned 5 months old, we can't believe how fast the time has gone. She is doing great, loving her food, if you can't tell:) She is almost sitting up on her own and loves to play with you and watch her big sister. You will be playing with her and if Syd is doing something, Gilly is watching and waiting to see what she does, it is so cute!
I was feeding Gilly in her highchair, well we aren't ready for that yet, she made a big big mess, it was cute!
Syd had fun playing in the dress up clothes, she was a snow princess and a cowgirl!
Today Al convinced Syd that we should do her hair in braids, as you can see I didn't get her pony tails even, but we did get the braids in and it was cute and she liked it:)
Sorry I hadn't posted in almost a month, we have been busy, I will try to get some more pictures up sooner this next time.
Again I am still having trouble with the formatting of the pictures and text so if anyone who is on blogger has any hints for me, please let me know! Thanks

July Fun

Well we have had a busy July so far! On Friday July 1st we went down to the OKC Zoo, it was very hot, but we got there right when it opened and we left when it was time for Syd's nap so it worked out. We had fun, we got to see the new baby elephant that was born in April and we saw a lot of animal. Syd liked the gorillas, they were laying right in front of the window, so they were easy to see!
On the 4th of July we went to the pool and cooled off some and then we just hung out at home and enjoyed the sand box!
Syd got a new bike, it is a Dora bike and it has the backpack with the map. If you have ever watched Dora you will know what that means, and she was very excited about the backpack! She is doing great on it, we did take our first spill on it the other night but she got right back on and is doing great!
On July 8th we headed down to Dallas so we could watch our Oakland A's play the Texas Rangers. Well we didn't get to watch much of the game, the stadium is great, but a little loud for Gilly, so I left to go back to the hotel and then Syd didn't really want to stay much longer either. I guess we will wait to go to another game until they are older:) On our way home we stopped to see my good friend Jessica and her family. Henry just turned 2 and Syd and Henry had a blast, they were running around in circles, it was so cute! I wish we lived closer because I think they would be great friends! Syd really liked their dog Max too:) Gilly was the only kid that would sit with Jessica and I for a picture and she was very glad to do it as you can see from her smile:)
We went to the pool again yesterday, with it being so hot here in OK we go to the pool a lot, anyway and we put Gilly in the floaty deal and she liked it. Syd is really getting around on her own a lot too with her floaty and that makes it really fun for her.
Gilly tried sweet potatoes today and liked them, she also likes apples! Both of the girls are doing great and learning new stuff each day! Gillian really likes to have your attention these days it is pretty cute:) Hope everyone is having a great summer and hopefully you are not as hot as we are here in OK:)

Sand, more Sand and Mommy's birthday

Well we put the finishing touches on the playground. We put railroad ties all the way around it and then we filled it with sand. Ok let's be honest Al and Adam did most of the work, Syd and I helped when we could:) As you can see the dump truck was able to fit through the gates in the back fence, thank goodness, otherwise that would have been a lot of sand to move from the front yard to the back! We had one huge pile and Syd loved it, she had so much fun that first night that she cried when it was time to come in:) She loves playing out there, so thanks to Uncle Adam and Daddy for all the hard work!
We put Gillian in the Johnny Jump this week and she hasn't really gotten the idea to jump but she likes it, something new:) We also fed her rice cereal last week, so cute, she wasn't too sure about it, but is doing better this week.
It was my birthday, 33, wow, crazy, so we celebrated at home and Al picked up an ice cream cake which was great especially with this hot hot weather we have been having!
Enjoy the photos.
