Padre Island, Corpus Christi, TX - Nov 5-7

We decided to take advantage of being so close to Padre Island, Corpus Christi, and headed down for the weekend before the weather gets too cold:)
Friday afternoon
Syd is checking out the water, little did we know that this was the beginning of her not wanting to get out of the water!!

Here she is taking off from the towels to go back to the water.
Syd and Daddy's footprints

Saturday
We got up and went to the Packery channel to look for dolphins, there were some there but they were pretty far out.
After a nice nap she was ready for more fun in the sun! She loved playing in the sand and liked her legs buried, it was pretty cute.

Taking a much needed break from all the playing:)
Mommy and Syd
After dinner we went back to the beach to play a little Frisbee, she really enjoyed it.
Sunday
We went to look for dolphins again, but this time we drove the TL on the beach, and we didn't get stuck, it was great! Made for a much shorter walk which is key with a 20 month old.
There were a ton of dolphins today and it was great, we really enjoyed watching them, ok let's be honest I was really enjoying myself while Al was making sure that Syd didn't get into trouble.

Playing in the water one last time before we were going to get in the car and head home.

San Antonio Zoo - Nov 4th

Al and I took Syd to the San Antonio Zoo on Thursday afternoon and it was great. Syd had a fun time.
At the Fun Farm touching the goats horns:)
Riding the elephant
Checking out the kangaroos!

Baby Girl #2 Update

Well wanted to let everyone know that Sydney is going to have a sister:) I was a little behind on my ultra sound and appointments due to our move, but we are on track now and Baby girl is looking great, measuring right on track. Can't believe that I am already 24 weeks along, over half way done, that is great! I am feeling good, just tired, but who isn't chasing after a 20 month old! I will try to keep everyone updated as we get closer to the big day.

Happy Halloween from our Little Lady Bug

Sydney was our Little Lady Bug for Halloween this year. She really liked her costume, but didn't want to wear her antenna all the time:)
Daddy and Syd
Mommy and Syd

Uncle Aaron was over to watch the game and so Syd had to show him her costume

We went out to go trick or treating and we found a "Safe Halloween" party at a park that we have been going to and it was great. Syd was able to play some games and then get some candy, she had a great time.

They had music on and she was dancing away, if only I had the video camera with me!

Pumpkin Patch in TX

Ok finally some updates from us, sorry it has been so long but we have been busy. Enjoy reading through our adventures from the end of September up to today!

We had to find a pumpkin patch to take Sydney to and they didn't have any like we went to in CA where you could go and actually pick them from the patch but we did find a pretty good one and got a few good pics.
Here you can see Syd the scarecrow and Daddy the pumpkin man
Syd was trying to pick up all the pumpkins, it was cute.

She likes to say "cheese" when she sees the camera now, so that means we get some cheesy smiles:)

It was 80 degrees out and very sunny, a bit different from the pumpkin patches I used to go to as a kid!

Drive from CA to OK and then to TX

We left CA and tried to get as far as we could on the first day, we made it to Barstow, CA. That was a long day of driving, we got up the next day and headed for the Grand Canyon. It took us a couple hours out of our way, but we were so close we had to take a look.
Here are some Elk that were just hanging out near the parking lot.
The Grand Canyon

It was truly amazing, so big! It was a nice break from being in the car for us and Syd got to run around too. We had her lion backpack on her to keep good tabs on her:)
We made it to New Mexico that night and the first thing Syd does when we get to a hotel is to find the phone and call someone. We of course would unplug it right away so she could play to her hearts content:)
Yeah we finally made it to OK and we were staying with our family, Sarah, Adam and Sam! Here is Sam hanging out. While we were in OK we were spending most of our time looking for a house, wow is that a lot of work! We finally did find one.

Sydney loved it when Sam was in his jumper, she would jump too, to show him what to do, it was cute. So fun to have the cousins play and hang out.
Sydney loved playing with her ball in the backyard, she would toss it and then go "ball, ball" and go look for it, too cute.
Smiley Sam
Running to give Uncle Adam a big hug.
We were very bad at taking pictures while we were in OK because we were so preoccupied with the house, so we finally got one group photo before we left for TX.
We drove from OK to TX and then we stayed with Aaron and Karen for a couple nights until our apartment was going to be ready. Our apartment is nice, we have space and Syd has adjusted to her new room and sleeping in the pack n play every night. It is warm here and humid, so glad we were not down here in the middle of the summer. We live near Al's work so that is great he can come home at lunch if he wants and Syd and I can go see him too. Syd and I are trying to find parks, a story time, other play groups etc to keep us busy for the next 4 months.

Packing and more Packing

Tim was in town for work so we got to have one last dinner with him.
Me, Tim and Jen
Sydney and I met up with Jen and Meghan for lunch and Syd was very much liking her Auntie Jen!!

Here Syd is helping me pack, yes her way of helping was to sit in everything I took out of the cupboards, it was pretty funny.
This was her last nap in her crib, then Daddy was going to take it apart for the move.
Helping Dad
Hey Dad, what happened to my highchair????
A few last pictures of our home in CA, this was on move out day!
